On screen keyboard/display horizontal issues

For some reason, whenever I turn my Droid to the horizontal position, the screen and on-screen keyboard do not adjust. They stay at the vertical position. If I flip out the built-in keyboard, the screen changes to horizontal. However, once I clip the built-in keyboard back in, the screen goes back to vertical.

Where is the setting that I can go to which will auto-adjust the screen and on-screen keyboard?

settings>sound and display> make sure "Orientation" box is checked

I did this, but it still does not adjust. I'm not sure what has happened....it used to do this a few days ago (and I only got the phone last week, never dropped or anything.)

did you try a power cycle and/or battery pull?

I tried both. The setting for Orientation is checked, and the Droid still does not adjust.
