On the phone and the screen locks...why?

I guess some people want it to do this and some don't. I have not had a problem of hanging up on people when I place the phone close to my cheek. However, now I have the problem where I have to insert my password when I'm on a call to get back to the keypad or speakerphone options. This is quite annoying (especially when using IVR systems). I noticed this started to happen after I updated to the latest GDE and I have made a post in the developer's thread to see if this can be fixed but I was wondering what the proper functionality should be?

Should it lock? Or should the screen just go off and be inaccessible? I don't think you should have to input your password again if you are just on the phone. That seems counter-intuitive and inefficient.

Any ideas? Solutions?

there are a bunch of threads about this already, try posting in one of those.
