What are your opinions on using a battery saving app like juice defender? I'm using juice defender now on my gnex and the battery life is still terrible.
I don't really believe in battery saving apps as it's just another app regulating other functions, in other words, it uses battery. I'm sure it does save a little bit of battery, but not as much as people think it will so it disappoints them. For the record I used JuiceDefender Pro for a week and found it barely saved battery life, maybe an extra 30 minutes.
The best ways to save battery, imo and what I practice:
1. Use Wifi whenever possible
2. Don't use anything "Auto" or if it pertains to updates, do it at longer hour intervals
3. Don't check your phone every 5 minutes
ROMs and kernels are the next step and improve battery life drastically.
I used Juice Defender as well as others All of them would mess with my 4g singal just cutting it completely off. I will have to go into the settings and cut it back on. I have not had much luck with them at all. Without it I do not have any signal problems.
