Oppo Officially Unveils the R7 and R7 Plus

It's time for another new smartphone launch from China. Oppo just unveiled their latest flagship devices, the R7 and R7 Plus. Here is the breakdown for these devices:

Oppo R7 -

• 5-inch AMOLED 1080p display (2.5D Curved Glass)
• 1.5GHz 8-core Qualcomm chipset (MSM8939)
• 2,320mAh battery with VOOC fast charging (non-removable)
• 3GB of RAM
• 16GB of internal storage
• 13 megapixel rear camera, 8 megapixel front camera
• Android KitKat

Oppo R7 Plus -

• 6-inch AMOLED 1080p display (2.5D Curved Glass)
• 1.5GHz 8-core Qualcomm chipset (MSM8939)
• 4,100mAh battery with VOOC fast charging (non-removable)
• 3GB of RAM
• 32GB of internal storage
• 13 megapixel rear camera, 8 megapixel front camera
• Android Lollipop

What's odd here is that they are starting off the R7 with Android 4.x KitKat, whereas the R7 Plus jumps straight to Lollipop from the factory. There's no word on price or availability just yet.

We wonder how/if this device will come to the US. If it does, it will likely not be through the usual big retail and carrier channels.
