Organizing music files

I don't know if this would be easier to do on the Droid or on my PC, but I want my music files on the Droid to be more organized. I used the stock music player, and just drag the files I listen to into a folder, and it works fine, except that alot of them appear under "artist unknown", some artists are split up because of a typo or something, I think you know what I mean. Anyone got a tip to fix this, i'm kinda anal-retentive about that stuff
