Back in 1996 consoles were barely able to push 3D graphics, but that didn't keep kids from saying things like "wow look how realistic it looks". One of the first major releases for the OG PlayStation was Tomb Raider. This game has seen many more releases since those days, and Lara Croft has become a bit of a modern day POP icon. There was even a movie based on the game which didn't exactly tank.

You can now have the game that kicked off the franchise on your Android phone or tablet. This includes the entire game that you remember including that 3rd person perspective that made this game really stand out. You will also realize just how old you are when playing a game with such unrealistic graphics that once amazed you! Grab this game from the link below.

Just read an article the other day on the history of the making of those first Tomb Raider games. Great read.

I just read the reviews. I was going to buy it but almost every comment said the controls need updating. I want it to work so bad...

Anyone get a controller to work seemlessly?

Might be worth the dollar investment now in case they update & charge more if you're really interested though.

It was an awesome game on the PlayStation. I wasted many a hour on it. Not sure it would be that appealing on such a small platform, but it's cool that they've released it for a new generation of gamers.

A lot of pretty games came out in 96:
  • Diablo
  • Duke Nukem 3D
  • Quake
  • Crash Bandicoot

Good ole Crash Bandicoot....one of only 3 game series I've ever finished to completion. (The other 2 were Uncharted & Halo series)
