OTA message every hour, ok to update?

Hello!

I have the German version of the Milestone and yesterday I started to get a OTA message on my 2.0.1 phone every hour that it needs to update.

1. Is this a update to 2.1?

2. Will I loose root?

3. Can I root again after the update?

4. Do I need to install I my applications again and set up my phone from the beginning after the update?

5. What is the best way to make a image backup before doing this?

messages
remember that the 2.1 official is not rooteable
