So, I might be an idiot because I've searched and cannot find the answer.
Normally if my signal would start getting sketchy I would do *228 and update my phone. But as I understand it we can't do OTA updates now after being rooted. Is it that for any OTA stuff, or just meaning we can't get the big updates (like when 2.2 froyo came out in november) ota?
Either way, I'd appreciate it if someone could elaborate on this, and furthermore if I can't do OTA's at all whilst rooted, can someone either list the instructions or post a link with the step by step instructions on unrooting and rerooting so I can run an OTA.
Thanks.

*228 works in Sense ROMs.
Why would you want or need the OTA's on a rooted device?

I want to do the OTA to fix my signal. As I said I used to do *228 updates (pre root) to make sure my signal is working best, which it hasn't been lately.

If I haven't changed my rom yet is it consider a " sense rom "?

Yes, stock ROM is known as a Sense ROM. Sense is HTC software that gives the cool weather animation, the launcher, and other things.
