Out of Space When D/Ling Gmail Attachment?

Hi everyone. I'm a new Incredible owner and I just tried to download an attached picture from a gmail message and received an error saying that I was out of space and the download could not be completed.

I just checked my memory and my phone's free space is 6.04gb and my SD card has 27.60gb free. Any ideas what could be causing the error?
