Overclock question

I'm using Android Overclock by jrummy. If what I read is correct, to get the best battery life I should use the lowest working vsels.
Is this correct? If I want performance, do I switch to highest vsels, our just switch to highest frequency? Is there a difference between same frequency at different vsels?

Generally speaking, better battery life will come from using lower voltage (vsel's). A faster phone comes from higher frequency. However, there is a corelation between higher frequency and required higher vsel...if you use a high frequency with too low of a vsel setting your phone can crash and reboot or else will run horribly slow.

You have two options:
1. Expirment. Try different default settings, or set custom/advanced settings (see option 2 if you want this). Every phone is different, so it can take time but try different voltage/speed settings and see what is best for your phone.

2. Use another app (QuickClock Advanced is what I use) to find the maximum speed of your phone as well as the lowest stable voltage. QCA will be a bit on the safe side, so you can edit your settings and experiment further.

QuickClock calibrates the phone for you and finds the maximum stable overclock and vsel. Its pretty awesome.

I use QCA and I was wondering if it saves your settings after you calibrate your phone...

Yes I have quick clock as well. I'm asking because my X seems stable
At ultra low @1350.

I went back to jrummy because last time I tried quick clock it tried to tell me 1800 on calibrate. I'll try again

I like Android OC (jrummy's app) because the GUI is much nicer, and I can easily set and change between custom settings. The profiles are also nice, such as on screen off setting frequency to the lowest possible to help save battery life.

@debrad, yes QCA saves your settings after you calibrate. Go to the Overclock portion and you will see and can change the settings that QCA chose based on the calibration. Hope that is what you were asking anyways.
