Paint chipping off camera button

My gold camera button is now half white. Doesn't look that great.

Since I installed Screen Mode Widget, I've used that button to wake up the phone.

I am trying to figure out if I care enough to seek a replacement. I'd be trading in my new one for a refurbished one, most likely.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah its happen to me too. Just chipped it all off so it doesnt look weird.

Chip it all off and if you still don't like it, use gold fingernail polish or a paint marker.

Mine hasn't chipped off yet, but I can see the potential for it to happen. Does anyone have any advice for preventing it, besides using a case? Clear nail polish or something? Maybe that's a bad idea...

I don't have any chipping on my camera button, but as I understand it, you cannot get a replacement, as this is cosmetic damage.

I have my droid in a rubberized case and screen protector over the
glass, no chipping problems and not expecting any.
