Pausing audio playback while Droid is locked

Is there any way to pause audio playback while the phone is locked?

I found this out by accident. The button on the side of the mic on my earphones will pause the “Music” app when the phone was locked.

I found this out by accident. The button on the side of the mic on my earphones will pause the “Music” app when the phone was locked.

The phone is sitting on my passenger seat, connected to the stereo via a cable. If I get a call on my work phone, I have to unlock it, pause it, and then hope I didn't miss my work call.

There's an app called Music Control that lets you tap the camera button to pause music if you're using the stock player. Or you can use another app called Exective Assistant that lets you put widgets on a semi-custom lockscreen.
