pdanet not staying connected

I'm having problems with pdanet not staying connected. I can get connected but then it drops shortly thereafter. Not sure if it's related, but I have recently been rooted with sholesmod with I believe version 2.0.2. I have updated to the latest version of pdanet on both laptop and phone, and I have also sent an email to junefabrics. I bought the full version as I need it for when I am at work because I am a student needing access to a secure site. My workplace will not allow usage of wifi.

I've been having problems with PDAnet over the past month or 2. For the first few months after I purchased the full version, it worked great. Then, the connection would stop working after a few minutes, sometimes less than a minute after connecting. Every now and then I'd get a message saying to check the box for Google DNS even though it was already checked.

To try and fix it I did a clean install on my computer, got a new USB cable, new micro SD card, and then a new phone (moto droid), but I still have the same problem! Their tech support is no help what-so-ever. I tried easytether 2day, and that seems to be working well, so I think I'll cough up $10 for that, and just consider the money I spent on PDAnet wasted.

Are you rooted?
