I searched for an answer here and on the web and couldn't find 1.

My question is I have been using (computer side) version 2.45 on my laptop and it shows it as a broadband connection in "network connections".

I installed version 2.43 on my desktop (since I had a key for ver. 2.43) and it shows as a modem in "network connections", that dials #777?

Question is are the connections different and will the modem version cause me any problems such as xtra charges because its possibly connecting like my old aircard? Or do they both connect the same and route everything as phone data.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

No, it won't cause you any issues. It never seems to actually dial anything, it just uses the internet connection on your phone. It *can* kinda be used as a modem for dialup, but you are not forced into it.
