Perl or other scripting engine...

With the email client being what it is, I am wondering if there is a scripting engine (like Perl) which can run on the DROID. Something I could write a perl script to check if email force closes, and if it does to clear the data and reconfigure.

I think some other goodies can be built in - like periodic reboots and killing of unused services...

Does anyone know of something like this out there?

i know there is android scripting page on google code and a app that shows it here is the link to the google code site
