Phone calls and wifi

This sounds dumb, but I didn't know you could make phone calls and use wifi to check stuff online at the same time. Kool. Is anyone else surprised by this or am I just a noob?

Phone and text are on a different network then data as I understand it.

It's the only way to do both....Wifi....
