I am syncing my ACT contacts to my gmail account so they are available on my DroidX. In doing so, the phone extensions are concatenated with the phone number and visually look good [i.e. (123)123-1234x123].
When a number is dialed, it is displayed without the "x", (123)123-1234123, and it fails with the msg, "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. Your call can not be completed as dialed. Please check the number and dial again. Announcment: 4 switch 40-6."
Is there a way to configure the interpretation of the phone extensions so they are handled correctly?
I know about adding commas as delays for situations such as the voice mail access code. I am looking for 2 types of functionality:
1. Automatic recognition of the extension as part of the sync. And,
2. Dialing of the extension at the right time during the phone call.
My old BlackBerry was able to be configured to recognize the extension and display it on the screen during the call until I pushed a button at which time the extension was dialed. This is a good implementation and what I am looking for in #2 above.
Thanks for your help.
