Phone goes dead, battery removal recovers

What happens is my Moto Droid just dies. As if its been powered off. No lights, no buttons will bring it back. The only way to fix it is to remove the battery, reinstall and power up. It happened once yesterday, and I chalked it up to a fluke. But it happened twice today, once just now while I was using the phone.

So is there a known issue, or a fix, or should I be talking to Verizon about a new phone or what?

TIA

Similar issue yesterday

My phone would not wake. The notification LCD was flashing, so it was not dead, however it would not wake. No luck with using either the lock button or opening keyboard. Would not turn off by holding down power button. Battery pull restarted it and it seemed OK, but it happened again a few minutes later, it would not wake up. Again a battery pull fixed and it has not happened since.

I also noticed that a bug in the email seemed to be suddenly fixed, i.e. email headers and bodies interchanged (AFTER my accounts dissappeared.) A few emails that had consistantly shown the weird combination of mismatched headers and bodies suddenly showed the correct ones! Made me wonder... did VW/Google do a silent OTA update to fix the bug and that is what caused the strange crashes yesterday morning... Hmmmmm :icon_eek:

EDIT: Well, just got a new mismatched email, so, no sneaky fix there:motdroidvert:

Same thing just happened to mine. Battery pull fixed it. Hope it doesn't do that again. No calls showed in the call log even though I called it from my landline.
