Phone reboots on it's own and when I receive calls, is there a root fix?

Basically I've come to the conclusion when the phone is not in use the cell connection goes into deep sleep and calls or data syncing causes it to reboot. I've missed a ton of calls and heard the "DROID!" reboot sound a lot too... if I root is there a way to keep the data/cell network always on? VZW said they'd send me an incredible 2 but I'm considering buying a 4G phone outright. But I don't want too since I do like my D3 but this constant rebooting and losing calls is just too much.

Anyone have any solutions?
