Phone receives all pictures in terrible quality

Galaxy S4 receives all pictures in terrible quality

Whenever people send me any picture through a text message, it gets received in terrible quality. Like probably 240 p or something. I have tried receiving them through the stock messaging app and GoSMS. I have verizon. Does anyone know why this is happening???

Sounds like they're simply sending you very low res images. Have them send you a hi res image and see if it's different.

When someone sends a picture over MMS, quality of it goes down, no matter the picture quality setting on their phone.

The phone will typically scale the image is there is a cap on MMS message size. This can cause some serious quality issues. What kind of phone do they have?

I've tested it through many different phones. I've gotten pictures from Iphone 4, 5s, Droid Razr, and an HTC something (i cant remember what phone he had)

They are not taking it in a low quality, and are not sending it in a low quality. If they send the same picture to a different phone the quality is fine. It is when i receive the photo that the quality drops to the point where i don't even know what i am looking at.

Is there any way to increase what quality i receive pictures at?

EDIT: to answer your question too blue, when i take pictures the resolution is amazing. The camera on this phone is great, and i have no problem with the quality of the pictures i personally take.
