phone wont call or receive calls or messages

Everything from gmail to internet to facwebook workd...but i cant make calls or receive them...i also cant recieve text or send them...any ideas?

can you dial anything? try dialing *228 to update the roaming.

I'm just asking because, when I used to have the G1 on tmobile, my first bill got lost in the mail, and all my internet worked, but calling and text didn't.
