Has any one figured out how to bypass the Facebook and other online pictures that open up when trying to look at pictures in the photo gallery? I have a grandfathered 150MB data plan and don't wish to use precious data when trying to show off pictures of my adorable dachshunds.

Sent from my DROID X2 using DroidForums

I couldn't so I went to the Market and got the older Gallery and I use that instead.

Go Into the "My Accounts " app and delete facebook . Then you have to delete the pictures 1 by 1 . Thats what I did .

New B to the Droid2x having issues with getting my photos setup. I've tried taking the Sd card out an set it up on the PC. In folders put back in and the Droid won't see the folders.
Hope someone can give me some pointers. NEED HELP BIG TIME!

In reply to the OP, I use QuickPic. Works great, os lightweight and fast with several viewing options.

Try this: Backup the data on the card, format (using the phone), copy the data back.

To format the SD Card, do Menu > Settings > SD card & phone storage > Unmount SD card > Format SD card

I also don't like how it defaults to facebook images. Granted its only a few seconds I have to wait to view my images but those few seconds add up and aggravate the hell out of me.

That's exactly why I installed QuickPic. It doesn't get FB pics from my friends- only shows my photos. Why in the world Moto thought everyone would want other people's photos on our phones is beyond me. If I want to see them, I'll go to their FB page.

Remember to put all your pics in the DCIM directory, if it's not on your SD card make one.
I all my pics are in sub-directories in the DCIM, family, dogs, camera etc. So you can find the pic later.

That's a helpful suggestion because it keeps your pictures in one place, but from a technical standpoint, it's not required. Android scans all non-hidden folders for new media when a drive is mounted.

Removing FB profile updates from Photo Gallery for Droid X2

Under your All Apps menu,
  • Select the Social Networking app.
  • Select and hold the profile update notification.
  • When the "Select" menu appears, you will have the option to either Like, Write on wall, Poke, etc.
  • At the very bottom, you will notice the "Hide social activity"
  • Select this option and accept the following prompt.
The update will fall from your gallery and you should be good to go.

Ok, General, I got so excited when I saw this that I grabbed up my phone and started looking. Could you tell me where I might find this Social Networking app and what do you consider my All Apps Menu?? I clicked on the icon that brings up all my apps and Social Networking is not among them. So, I went to the settings, manage applications and it is in there in the all apps area. But I can only uninstall it or force stop. So please tell me where I go to find the Social Networking App that will actually let me manipulate it?? Thank you ever so much!!!

Hi Wendy, Here is a link that should help.
https://motorola-global-portal.cust...93/~/droid-x2---social-networking-application

The social networking icon is a teal-ish color with three human silhouettes. I believe it is one of the default apps that appear on the x and x2.

Hope this helps!:motdroidvert:
