Physical Key Lights

This is a problem that a few people on a Droid X Facebook group and I are having. I originally had the problem after I flashed Gummy 2.5 and after many posts and no responses in the thread I had given up. I am posting this in here because they both use the same base and a few people in the group had this problem with Liberty. And yes this problem has persisted between roms, backups, and .sbfs. The problem is that the hard light keys do not glow on boot up, and they do not function at all until the phone is booted up, unlocked, relocked, and unlocked. And then they work fine, even when powering off. The fact that they work fine is what leads me to believe that it is not a hardware problem, along with the fact that it happened to multiple people flashing this rom. So all I ask is for you to take a quick moment to reboot your phone and pay attention to your hard keys and post whether or not you are having this problem. Hopefully if it's a problem with the rom then there will be a way to fix it, or maybe it is some sort of once in a life time fluke that this same thing happened to all of us while flashing these roms. Either way, I'll I am hoping for is some sort of clarification.

So if they work fine after rebooting and locking, and unlocking a few times, what's the problem? I don't get it.

IMO, this is the best rom currently out, with an update a few days away.

It's not a major problem but if it's something that can be fixed if looked at then why not bring attention to it?

yea it happened to me with Liberty, GummyJAR, and even rubiX. hopefully somebody will fix this, tho it's not so annoying anymore b/c i'm so used to it lol

There is no problem with your phone. The keys are not supposed to come on until after the phone is unlocked and has been like that since release. OP are you really going to start a new thread for every new rom that comes out complaining about having to lock and unlock the phone to get the hard keys to light up?

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums App

Uh, this would be the first thread that I've ever made about this? Are you sure about that though? I'm pretty sure the hard light keys used to glow upon boot once the phone vibrated.

I can second this issue. I have not posted about it because it really isnt a big deal. But yeah, the lights used to work and now they dont. I dont understand why the flaming, this is a genuine issue and for some people this kind of a big issue. Anyway, if anyone knows of a good fix, let me know. Otherwise, this rom has greatly improved my phone so no biggie. Also I am on D2G.

EDIT: I just found an app on the market called backlight off. This app allows you to turn the keyboard on and off and even has a widget for one click activation. Also an app called AdjBrightness allows you to turn soft keys on and off. Look into these apps for when you are droiding at night.
