So far, so good. I'm coming from a Droid X, which my daughter got wet and ruined over the weekend, and I feel like the TB is a nice step up.

I have to wait until June 16th for 4G to launch in my city, but I'm enjoying the device even without it.

I hadn't planned to use my upgrade yet, but I have another one available in August from another phone on my account, so I will still have some flexibility if needed.

Hopefully the extended battery I ordered will help overcome the battery life issues I've read/heard so much about.

Definitely get the extended battery. My friends has to charge it several times a day with the stock batt.

Put juice defender on it and don't install the ota update. I love mine and the battery isn't that bad and I am coming from a phone that would go a week without a charge. I get 10-12 hrs a day and I am not a light user by no means.

Sent from my Thunderbolt.

I would have to say the update made my battery worse :/

A couple times a day? My stock battery, non rooted gets me through the day, with 40percent left. A full charge keeps my phone in full use for 4hrs.

I'm glad you are having a great experience right out of the box! I'm sure your extended battery will do a great service to you for battery life.

Cheers

I downloaded an app (LTE OnOff) that allows me to manually toggle back and forth between 4G and 3G. Most people who use an app like this keep their phones set to 3G; however, being in a strong 4G market, I keep mine set to 4G. From what I've gleaned here, the phone eats a lot of battery just by toggling back and forth between 3G and 4G, so the simple act of keeping it set to one or the other will extend your battery life. Anyway, since I started doing this, I've been getting at least 10 hours from a full charge, with moderate usage. That's up from maybe - maybe - four hours with moderate usage. My phone is stock and non-rooted.

On 3G mine lasts all day with moderate+ use on the stock battery and stock ROM. On 4G I get 8 - 12 hours depending on use which still isn't bad. I'll take that over a 3 inch thick phone.
