Pictures being deleted by phone

For the last week, I have noticed that pictures I have recently taken have been deleted. I haven't deleted them and I don't have kids, so children are not playing with my phone and accidentally deleting them. I will take a picture, it'll save to my SD card, a few days later, the pictures are gone. I know it's not my SD card, the card still has 3gb of space left. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen or if anyone has any suggestions.

Some people say to just restart your phone. See if that works for you.

Thank you for the information. I went into my gallary yesterday and they were actually back. Not sure what happened or why, but I think I should find a way to automatically save these pictures to something when I take them.
