Pictures in 4:3?

I was comparing the pictures between my mom's Rezound and my Nexus. Now that I have both phones and can take pictures with lots of light (Walmart), I now see that the Nexus's camera really can't stand to the camera on the Rezound; which sucks because I like having a good camera but I can deal cause its a OK camera. The pictures are in 4:3? Is there a setting I can change to make them 16:9 like the Rezound? Also, is there a camera app that makes the colors "pop" more? When I do side my side caparisons the resounds pictures just seem brighter.

not that I know of.

Some say Zoom EX (?) makes the pictures look better, though I don't think so. stock camera far exceeds my expectations.
