Pictures or thumb nails placed on phone

I have a droid thunderbolt and when I open an e mail or go to a web site my phone saves a picture or thumb nail in my photos. How can I stop this from happening?

Just a wild guess, but are you somehow taking a screenshot by accident?

Edit: The folder that it's being saved to might tell you how its getting saved.

What mail client are you using? Check the setting.
