Please help!! Rooted OG Droid call screen blacks out and wont come back on.

Every gingerbread rom causes this and the only way to get the screen to light up is if I slide open the keyboard before the other person ends the call. I've tried a few froyo roms as well and the proximity sensor won't turn off the screen. I believe it is a broken proximity sensor, but I'm hoping for something different. If it is, is there an app I can use as a work-around until the bionic comes out.

it does sound like a defective proximity sensor. You may want to load up an official un-rooted SBF file to see if the problem persists then you'll know for sure.

this is the issue with alot of hacked together roms..... some things just don't work as desired.
