I apologize for being ignorant, and take it easy on me...im new. I want to root my phone, but im having trouble understanding what you're talking about. Honestly, it's sounding like a foreign language.

Can someone please give me a brief rundown on what I need to do? I have already updated to 2.2.

i think u need to read link 2 in my sig to learn more to what you are doing to your phone.

then check out this to root the DX running 2.2 once ur comfortable

Thank you. I've actually read a lot about it (i.e benefits, potential problems, ect.). I just lack the tech knowledge regarding the terms that are being used. There is a TON of info on these boards and its tough to determine who's knowledgeable and who is being risky. But, seeing as you're a "supporting member", I will check out your links. yes all links in my sig are worth noting. just know that not all of the links may apply to the DX (some, like the DF roms, are for D1s)
