Polar clock? cant remove

ricks

Member
I downloaded Polar clock off of the market, and I can not remove it from my Droid. I cant find it in the market and it is stored in my live wallpapers only. Any one have any ideas.

Dammit now ya made me look cause I wanted to install it also, now I cant find it either..

Have you tried "Menu>Filter:All" within "Manage Applications"? Seems odd for a third party app but some apps show up only with that filter.

Just tried that, still not showing up, its not in the app drawer.. it must be on the sd card somewhere..

They shoud really just make an option within live wallpapers to uninstall right next to the install button.. this is ridiculous.

Sorry, it was just a guess. I just checked my wife's phone and I now understand what you're talking about. Oddly, it appears that some live wallpapers can be uninstalled while others cannot. It does appear that "live wallpapers" can be uninstalled, but I'm not sure if you can find it to install again.

P.S. Just did a quick google search and found some info on the issue on the XDA site in reference to the N1. From what I can tell, Polar Clock is part of the package of Live Wallpaper, not a separate app. If you're going to delete it, it appears you have to be rooted and do some surgery on various apk files associated with Live Wallpapers.

Did this polar clock come with the 2.1 update?

That appears to be the case. It's on both my wife's and my droid and I know I didn't install it. (See post above about removing it.)

Ok that makes sense then, still, its just wrong that they put things on the phone that cant be removed, Im not rooted and wont be so, thats not gonna be one of my options to remove it, I dont even know if you can by rooting..
