Police scanner

While I know there are several apps in the market the question I have is the county I live in is rather large and is broken up into several districts. My question is this does anyone know of a good scanner that you can get more specific on the county your listening to? I know it just came out on the iphone or ipod but have no clue what its called and would love to get this app

I personally use the Scanner Radio app. Granted my county isn't all that large as far as population goes, but it covers my county sheriff's dept. and Highway patrol. For some reason no local PD, but that may certainly be different for your area, as I know they have the Toledo (OH) PD. At the very least you can download the app and have it search for scanners around you and see what if anything it comes up with. It also has a top 50 scanners list you can choose from, ability to favorite a scanner, and other features. I've been using it for a few months and besides the lack of local PD I love it!!dancedroid

I use policestream and I am pleased with it. They all use the same data sources (local enthusiasts with scanners and high speed internet, or in rare cases communities that directly stream their radios), so you need to choose based on features, not coverage.

I have used both programs and both use the same source I wasn't sure if there was a program that went a little more specific. My problem is the county I'm in Montgomery County MD have I think 6 or so districts so only working/living in 1 of them makes the rest needless also it plays through whoever starts talking first and not knowing any of the other call signs for the other areas makes it rather hard to listen to

all of the scanner apps run off of www.radioreference.com. all of them..period. the information you get is info that the provider gives radio reference for the county there in. I myself provide cumberland county, tennessee to radio reference so this is why I know how it works. I use scanner radio on my droid. Unless the info provided from the provider is specific you wont know..thanks
