Samsung is still trying to figure out why their Note 7 devices were catching fire randomly. There are rumors of a conspiracy theory. It seems as thought the various outfits that have investigated this would be able to figure out what would cause this. After weathering a severe dip in share value Samsung seems to be doing just fine. They are looking forward to releasing the Galaxy S8 in 2017, and have already confirmed they will be releasing the Note 8 next year as well. The question is are you confident enough to buy another Samsung product or are you finished with Samsung for good.

I would buy another Samsung if they had a device that interested me. The way my buying pattern has gone though, the next Android device I'd have to get is a Motorola, then go back to a Samsung:

First Android: Droid X
Second: Galaxy Nexus
Third: Moto X
Fourth Galaxy S6

:)

I was a Fan of Note since Note 2. I since have Gone to the Motorola Droid Turbo for its Power and Great Battery. Now Im on the Moto Z Force. Has everything I want minus S-Pen but Moto Mods do give it a certain Niche.

My wife loves her S7, afaik and has been using Samsung phones for the last several that she's had, so even if I never buy another one for myself, I'm sure I'll still buy Samsung.

The software is what would keep me from buying one for myself. After using Samsung phones (S4 & Note 4) and now going back to a Nexus device, I'm sold on the fact that I like vanilla android. If they toned TouchWiz WAY back (I know it's been improving), I might consider getting myself a future Samsung device.

I've gone from moto to sammy and back...

started with Droid 2 Global, then Bionic, Razr, Razr Maxx, Galaxy Note 2 and finally my Moto X Pure... I'm actually looking at the LG V20 my first 4 phones were LG the VX8100 Chocolate ENV2 and the Voyager... I'm definitely interested in trying them out.

Should Sammy release another device that I really like I'd definitely buy it... the Note 7 "Fiasco" was WAY overblown in my opinion...

Just depends on what sammy releases in the future.

Depends on if it is a sizable enough of an upgrade from my S7 Edge. I purchased mine just weeks before the release of the Note 7 and up until the news about the problems I was seriously regretting now holding out. When the Note 8 comes out I will make up my mind then. Anyway, it is a given that I will buy a Samsung anyway. Since the Galaxy S3, they are the only smartphone brand that I have ever owned. They certainly did right by the people who were affected by this problem so unless there becomes a trend with multiple models of Samsung phones blowing up or otherwise failing, I intend to stick with them.

I could not care less about the Note 7 fiasco. What killed Samsung for me was the Verizon Note 4 fiasco. If and when Samsung starts making devices that are easily rootable and bootloader unlockable, then I will consider Samsung again.

I've heard all the arguments for what they're doing and they have every right to go that direction. That's not the direction I'm headed so we've parted ways until such time as Samsung changes direction.

What was the Note 4 fiasco? The late update? That's Verizon not Samsung....

Samsung Note 7.5

Yes if they made a vanilla device that wasn't bogged down with skins and themes and crap. One that didn't start to lag and stutter after getting loaded. So yes, IF tgey made a 'cleaner' phone... YES!
