If you would like to do some customizing to your Amazon Fire TV like possibly adding a new launcher, and maybe even installing the Google Play Store you will need to be rooted first. This can now be accomplished pretty easily with a prerooted custom rom by developer "rbox". This will require that you have ClockWorkMod Custom Recovery installed to your AFTV first.
