Problem going back to phone screen

Has anyone else had this problem?

I was in a call today and thought I would see if I could run apps during a call like they do in the new ATT commercials. It does work so I dont know how ATT has a leg to stand on trying to say we cant.

Here's the problem though. I was in a call, pressed my home button pressed my "where" button to check a restaurant found the info I needed, long pressed the menu button to bring up my running applications, pressed the phone icon got back to the phone screen and it did not give me the end and speakerphone keys as we have during a phone call. Could someone check this on their phone and verify that this is a problem with all droids?

It does seem to do interesting things when you go away and use the long press to come back. Sometimes I ended up in the call log, and other times I got a menu that gave me options to return to the call or add a call. If I clicked return to call, it went back to the call screen with all the options.

What does work is using the notification bar to return to the call. If you click on the call notification, it takes you right back to the call screen with all the buttons (speaker/mute/etc)

Thats quite the common solution, I didnt even think about that. There's so many dif ways to do things with this phone and thank god there is so we can work around all these bugs until they come up with a fix.

AT&T's claim isn't that you can't use apps during a call. They're saying that Verizon's network doesn't support using voice and data at the same time, which is 100% accurate.
