problem playing .mkv files

Alright, I have a bunch of .mkv files, with subtitles. I am trying to use MX Player to watch them, but the video skips horribly. I am not sure what the specs are for the video file but they are high quality. I wondering if this is just my issue or playing HQ videos like this just cant happen. Thanks in advance.

Have you gone to the MX options and changed to HW or SW? Jiggling those decoding settings usually works for me. Having said that I've also tried to watch mkvs and it just wouldn't play.
