Problem setting chrome as default

I have the S3 with the newest software update. When I click on a link, it offers to open in chrome or the stock internet browser. I click on chrome, then hit always. Next time it does the same thing. Over and over. I've gone into the application manager and cleared the defaults for chrome and the stock browser. l have also force stopped the stock browser, and uninstalled/reinstalled chrome. It simply does not want to save as my new default. I've read many things online about this issue with the S3, but have not gotten any real answers on how to fix it. Suggestions?
