Problem with activation after flashing 2.3.0 onto R2D2

I have the r2d2 starwars phone

it is running an odd version of the firmware. after some searching, i dug up this tutorial;

i got as far as flashing in the new sbf file as per this tutorial that i was linked to in the first tutorial

everything went smoothly, but now that i am needing to activate it on the network, it acts strange.
it calls, and after prompting me to enter my phone number, it says a bunch of stuff about open hours and then says that if my phone is lost or stolen i should press 2. then it hangs up on me, and says that activation was unsuccessful.....


what do i do? did i just kill my phone?

it turns out Verizon activation system is down for maintenance.... They just didn't bother putting a warning message on the activation menu

Did you get your phone activated yet? I'm trying to activate a phone online, so far it appears to be still down.
