Hello all,

I have been searching this forum and the general internet for a week now trying to find a solution to my problem with no luck, so I am hoping that appealing to the masses might result in some progress.

I attach my phone to my PC via the usb cable, I have made sure my phone is in debug mode, my phone software is up to date and I have tried the drivers available on Motorola's website, but my PC will not recognize my phone. I get a very quick pop up on my alert bar saying it is an unrecognized device, I have tried all my usb ports on PC but no luck.

I am really at a loss any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if you already figured this out, but for some reason Moto does not have a setting for the USB mode unless you plug in the USB cable. Once the cable is pluged in you will see a USB symbol in notifications on top of the phone. Pull down the notifications curtain, click on USB connection and select the desired mode. Usually USB Mass Storage. Hope this helps.

I am also having the USB connection issue. I know the pulldown menu you're referring to but it does not appear. I have tried several different PC's. Please help.

Try a different cable. Some work, some don't.

Those retractable ones especially are a pain in the butt.

I am having the very same problem. I have tried several cables. The issue started after I tried to use the phone as a tether. The computer keeps installing a driver for a USB Modem when I plug the RAZR in (even in Debug mode).
