Problems adding email accounts

Hey folks, I recently tried adding a new email account (non Google) and my phone just sits there on the retrieving account information screen. Sometimes, I then get a random VZW text message that says VZWPIN:_________ (string of numbers and then another string of numbers that include the date/time of my attemp). I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before and has an idea what the problem could be. I rooted the phone on Sat, if that might make any difference.

Hey there, I'd love to help but without knowing what email client you're using I can't begin to troubleshoot.

Also, the error you reference in texts is clearly the server letting you know it is unhappy with the attempts at connecting to that email account server. I did get texts like that in the past when I was trying to set up email on a server in Germany. I had to use a different port for the POP3 server and the problem went away. I believe it was an authentication issue.

I had this problem a while back when I was trying to add my email accounts to the stock email client. It took 5-6 minutes before it finally added the account.

The 10th try must be key, because it finally loaded the way it should... 3 days later lol
