Problems deleting pop 3 email.

Hi. Thanks in advance for your help. When I delete email, it goes to the trash folder as it should, but after deleting from the trash folder, the trash folder icon says there are still emails in it, though none show. Anyone else have this, and what did you do about it? This is happening with my outlook express email that also goes to my computer (I set up the droid to access this account).
