Problems tethering to Galaxy Tab GT-P1010

I just got a new Galaxy Tab GT-P1010 for Christmas and I am trying to tether to my Droid 1 (using Wireless Tether - 2.0.7). To no avail. The tablet doesn't see my Droid 1 using wireless but it DOES see it with Bluetooth. I know it's because the Droid 1 uses ad hoc for wireless and the tablet can't see it. I've also tried bluetooth and every combination of the 2. I've been searching for 2 days trying to find a way to do it. Do I need to root my tablet? Is there a setting I'm missing? Someone please help!:frown:

The tab needs an infrastructer connection that the d1 cant provide. If you root your tab there is a work around where your tab can use an ad hoc connections. Go over to xda forums its posted somewhere to do it.

After almost bricking my tab (can never just root :-)) finally gave in and flashed to stock and used a oneclick app to root, sadly :-(. Then downloaded the zt-180 adhoc switcher and am good to go. I'm using my droids wifi to post this:-)
