PSP Phone Now In Picture Form
It has been rumored for ages about what Sony has in store for us, well we finally have some information on what should be… the Play Station phone. The first phone to come with the much anticipated Play station integration finally has a picture for us to enjoy and even a spec sheet for some added fun.
Here is what we should expect on the device:
• Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
• Custom Sony marketplace to buy games designed for a device like this
• 1GHz Qualcomm MSM 8655 (200MHz faster than the G2, but the same new architecture, apparently) -- by the way, that's the same system-on-a-chip as we just saw in the myTouch 4G/HD benchmarks we posted.
• 512MB of RAM/1GB ROM
• MircoSD slot -- no Sony Memory Stick -- thank whoever it is you thank for that sort of thing.
• The screen is between 3.7 and 4.1-inches -- that's a pretty large range, and we're learning toward the larger end.
Now I cannot see how the PS3 sync will come in play with this, but I guess it is still unfinished as you can see in the picture above. Just so you know, this device is nowhere near ready and hopefully it is improved before released (Software improvements welcomed). I will also add that if you are one of the many that recently have grown to want a front facing camera, this device will have one as you can tell from the image above.
I would also like to point out that the phone is pretty much a PSP with a phone and so does this make it a PSPP or PSP or PSD (Play Station Droid). What do you think about this now? Any interest out there for something like this? Let us know.
