Putting a large file on SD card?

I have a 16 GB card with over 10 GB free space. I wanted to put a 4.3 GB file on the card. When I tried to move the file from my PC to the Fascinate, I got the message that it was too large for the destination.

Is there a way to move a big file onto my card without breaking it into parts (which is a hassle)?

The SD card has a FAT format, it will not accept a 4 GB file, you can try to reformat to NFTS. I can't guarantee you this can be done, just offering an explanation. Remember formatting erases whatever is on the SD card.

Is the file in question by any chance a dvd movie? You're phone won't handle it without converting the video.
