quadrant score?

What is it? What is its importance? And how do I check it? I keep seeing people talk about there score. I would like to know as well. Dang there is some lab when I type anyone else getting g that?

Quadrant is a benchmarking application that is free in the market... just search "quadrant"

Just installed it and ran a Benchmark test. My X came in second to a Nexus One with 2.2. My X's score was a 1169. Is that good?

Btw, I don't understand why the app goes through several pic frames before showing the results???

Sorry, bad comprehension on my part :) I guess the only way to to get faster is by overclocking.? Is there a way to do it without rooting ? I'm afraid to do that

Nope.

I wasn't "afraid" of rooting; just had a bad taste from unlocking my samsung omnia when I did it for the past few years, as most of the builds were really unstable with the windows software.

But rooting the Droid was a piece of cake. There's a FRG22 build out there that is a leaked 2.2 from verizon, but rooted. I followed the directions on installing sprecovery, then did that install for FRG22, and it was worlds easier than unlocking any other phone I've ever had.

If you want a faster phone, you either need to buy a faster one, or root yours... On a brighter note, my scores are as high or higher than the DroidX with Froyo...so it's a lot cheaper to root and play with your Droid than to buy another phone... Just sayin'...

My highest was a 1628...

That's on my Droid, running Froyo FRG22, and overclocked to 1.2 Ghz with a low voltage kernal.

Is that frg thing. Something I can just download from the market and easy install? And the low voltage too?

You'll need to look at the Android 2.2 (FRG22 release) threads on the site, follow directions carefully for the install.

Then install one of P3Droid's low voltage kernals: from here

Then get an overclocking app from the market (I use overclockwidget, 'cause it's free).

Honestly, I'm not the best person to ask for advice from, as I'm pretty new into the Android world. I just read the threads, followed directions, and everything worked out great for me.

I just got a 1015 using stock FRG01B rooted and overclocked to 800 mhZ since the stock kernel now allows overclocking. Purchased and installed EasyRoot and SetCPU and everything was done and running within minutes. Easiest way to root and overclock IMHO.

What is easy root? Is that an app that will root your phone for you? Lol that would be great
