question about over seas

I know I can't use my Droid outside the U.S. (really makes me miss my world phone), but have another question. Hopefully not too stupid!

I've downloaded some apps, ie... Where, Places Diretory and WikiTude World Browser.

Anyone know if these will work overseas if I can tap into wi-fi? I'm hoping I can use them to find places to eat, sites of interest etc, while in Central America and the Caymans starting next week.
