Question about ringleader app

I downloaded ringleader on my Razr maxx and it works fine, but my wife downloaded it onto her Droid 4 and for some reason it keeps the ringer and notifications volume locked together. I dont know if she did something different when setting up her phone or what. The whole reason for either of us downloading this app was to be able to cut notification volumes off at night and still be able to have the phone ring. Any suggestions on what to try? Or just try another app on her 4?

Settings > Sound > Volume> Un-check "use incoming call volume for notifications"
