Question about SATA HDD docking station

Not long ago I purchased a HDD docking station and want to ask if it will be safe to remove or add hard drives when the dock is powered on and hard drives are already in it.

This is actually the one I’m using in the event it makes a diff. Thanks.

I know this is a bit late of a response, and maybe you've found your answer by now, but judging from the link you posted, the unit must be turned off before removing or adding hard drives. Scroll to the bottom of the page under the "Please Note" section and look at the second bullet point there.
