Question about wiping data

I haven't wiped my X2 or any device with an internal drive yet so I was wondering when I wipe data to install a new rom will I lose all my data on the internal drive?
Just wondering because by default the internal drive is the location when downloads go.
Thanks in advance.

If you wipe data and cache on the phone from recovery, it will not wipe the internal SD card. You can go into storage options from the settings menu and wipe the internal card from there, and as far as I know, that's the only way. Hope this helps.

If you just wipe data and cache your files will still be on the internal card. It basically just wipes the system files. All your downloads, pics, and such will still be there.
