It is partitioned, so flashing ROMs leaves your virtual sdcard alone.

There is an exception to this, unlocking (and locking too I would assume) the bootloader does a complete wipe, including the sdcard partition. So prior to unlocking your bootloader, get everything off the phone you want. It isn't really a bad idea to make this one of the first things you do once you get your phone, that way you don't lose much.

Yep!

Is the memory partitioned (like Razr), so that so much is reserved for the OS, so much is reserved for Apps, the rest storage? Or is it all together without limits on each category?

It is partitioned similarly at least. I am not 100% familiar with the Razr though, so it could be off but yes there is a different partition for OS.

Code:
1|root@android:/ # df
df
Filesystem Size Used Free Blksize
/dev 347M 32K 347M 4096
/mnt/asec 347M 0K 347M 4096
/mnt/obb 347M 0K 347M 4096
/system 643M 305M 338M 4096
/data 28G 7G 21G 4096
/cache 425M 7M 418M 4096
/factory 19M 4M 15M 4096
/mnt/sdcard 28G 7G 21G 4096

I believe that the internal memory of the Razr has about 3gb for apps, 8 for additional storage.

Could you tell me which of those numbers you listed is for apps?
