Quick question on GB and Exchange sync

I've been reading many, many, many threads dealing with Gingerbread and user experience/problems. One of the things that keeps me from trying this out is I read that some folks were having problems after GB with syncing to Exchange servers. I rely on my Corporate Exchange account to update my contacts and calendars on the DX and that is sort of a deal breaker. Does anyone out there have any experience with this issue or found a work around?

Yes major problems with the stock email app after a few days. It gave a sync error, then an hour later, would sync just fine. Back and forth all day.

I switched back to Touchdown and it syncs with the Corporate Exchange just fine ... no errors.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm really trying not to buy yet another app to get things to work right! I've used several of the ROM's out there and the corporate sync works well on most of them but the caveat is I only use the exchange account for calendars and contacts, I have no interest in work email getting to my droid, that's what I have the BB for! Maybe I'll just stick with Rubix and DS for now and see how this shakes out in the next several weeks.

Do you have to have corporate account to receive "exchange" emails? I was able to set up an account on K9, and I received a test email I sent myself, but since then I have not received any other emails.
Just curious. I don't need access to address books or calendars...just email, and if I did not need to pay the extra 12$ per month and 20$ for touchdown, then I did not want to pay that extra money.

I ran non rooted ver of gb for a week and had no problems with our corporate exchange server. Email and calender both worked ok. Had to wipe data to get rid of the sync icon, but other than that....
